The Sorat Hotel Group - the company
Individual city hotels with a distinctive character have shaped the Sorat hotel group since 1990. The company is based in Berlin and currently comprises nine hotels: four Sorat Hotels and five partner hotels.
The Sorat Hotels stand for personal hospitality, manageable hotel sizes and individually developed hotel concepts. Standardised design is deliberately avoided. Each Sorat Hotel has its own character and features design elements that reflect the individual property and its location. “Our guests should experience their hotel consciously and with enjoyment, rather than waking up in the morning and first having to remember which city they are in,” says Managing Director Nicolas Meißner, describing the group’s approach.
The Sorat Hotel Berlin is a modern city hotel close to Wittenbergplatz. At the Sorat Hotel Cottbus, a historic Wilhelminian-era building was restored and integrated into the hotel complex. The Sorat Insel-Hotel Regensburg is located on an island in the Danube, within the listed walls of a former arts and crafts manufactory, and offers views of the river and Regensburg’s historic old town. The Sorat Hotel Brandenburg is situated directly on Altstädtischer Markt in the heart of Brandenburg an der Havel.
Personal service and a relaxed atmosphere are part of the identity of the Sorat Hotels. The properties cater to business travellers as well as guests visiting Berlin, Brandenburg an der Havel, Cottbus or Regensburg for leisure. In addition to the four Sorat Hotels, the Sorat hotel group includes five independently operated partner hotels. The group has worked with partner hotels since 1998. The partner properties benefit, among other things, from joint marketing and sales activities while retaining their individual identity.
Central corporate functions such as marketing and corporate communications are based at the Sorat hotel group’s headquarters in Berlin. From there, the activities of the Sorat Hotels and the cooperation with the partner hotels are coordinated. The Sorat Hotels in Berlin, Brandenburg an der Havel, Cottbus and Regensburg are Greensign certified. As part of the certification process, environmental, social and economic aspects of each hotel’s operations are assessed against defined criteria.
