The Sorat Hotel Group - the company

A spectacular designer hotel in a former ornamental metal works on an island in the Danube river, an unconventional retro-look hotel at Wittenbergplatz square opposite to the world famous KaDeWe department store, a lovingly restored Art Nouveau mansion dating from 1901: The SORAT Hotel Group has made a name for itself with individual city hotels. This Berlin-based company now boasts 14 hotels in Germany: Six SORAT Hotels and eight Partner of SORAT Hotels. All of these hotels are middle-class hotels offering impeccable comfort and service at a reasonable price. The hotels are compact in size with around one hundred rooms; this ensures that staff can cultivate a personal atmosphere with guests.

Off-the-rack interior design is out of the question at SORAT. SORAT guests should be impressed and pleased with their hotel rather than waking up wondering which city they are in. This is why each SORAT Hotel has an unmistakable character and its very own special design. For instance, the SORAT Hotel Ambassador in Berlin's city centre, is a classic among Berlin's retro-look hotels. On the other hand, the SORAT Hotel Görlitz is a wonderfully restored Art Nouveau building, a style that is mirrored by the hotel's interior design. The SORAT Insel-Hotel Regensburg is housed within the walls of a former ornamental metal works and is located on an island on the Danube river in the heart of the historical "Kaiserstadt" imperial town. And in the IBB Hotel SORAT partner hotel in Erfurt, a medieval inn was transformed into a "designer lodging". Top French designer Didier Gomez designed the room interiors and created an entire range of furniture for the hotel. And the SORAT Hotel Brandenburg is proof that the right colour scheme, simple design and the finest materials can be blended to create an outstanding atmosphere even in an unpretentious new building.

Unmistakable appearance as a trademark. The appearance of SORAT Hotels has long since become established as a trademark for boutique hotels. This success was not least due to a cleverly devised range of services. For instance, SORAT Hotels were among the first middle-class hotels in Germany to fit each bathroom with large mirrors and a hair dryer, today a standard feature in similar hotels. And the breakfast buffet in each SORAT Hotel offers guests an excellent start to the day with a large choice of musli, bread rolls, salmon and champagne, a selection of hot dishes and fresh pastries. The hotel rooms feature satellite TV, large desks, fax and modem connections, all the convenience and comfort which today's traveller has come to expect.

All major marketing functions are bundled in SORAT's headquarters in Berlin. This is also the birthplace of creative interior design concepts and ideas. Since 1998, the SORAT Hotel Group has been offering marketing partnerships to other hotels. The aim here is to offer these hotels nationwide representation in key destinations and to expand on an international level. The first to join as a "Partner of SORAT Hotels" was Domicil Hotel Rüsselsheim. Hotels in Duisburg, Nuremberg, Berlin, Hanover and Erfurt soon followed suit.

In 2006, the SORAT Hotel Group recorded sales of around 27 million Euro. The Group now boasts 14 hotels with 1,161 rooms.
